_{So Christine came through for me and I've got a job interview at Lowe's on Saturday... Cool, that will shut John's face until I screw something else up.

School... Not so good. It's a mixed bag of things, I guess.

Today I had a Block Med eval, in which we were assigned two random patients who could have any assortment of medications that we learned about in Nursing 1 and 2, as well as contact precautions, NG tubes, the works. Within the hour eval we were supposed to safely, and CORRECTLY figure out exactly *what* medications we would be giving, as well as the correct assessments required to give said meds. And give them, as well.

I did alright. Made a big mistake when it came to my second patient who had a D/Ced PO Lanoxin order. I overlooked that had been re-started as IV Lanoxin. So yeah, I missed one whole med... but at least I remembered an IV flush bag when I was giving an IVPB through a heptrap. My evaluator said I was the first person she's evaled that actually *remembered* to do that. So yay for small victories. Made it out of the eval with 5 minutes to spare, but hey, I did it.

Clinical on Monday was actually a bit awesome. I did three IV Boluses just fine, an IV piggyback, and a subcutaneous insulin injection. Sounds like a lot, but it really wasn't all that much. But it gave me a little more of a positive outlook on nursing yet again... until the next Stage 4 dermal ulcer that reeks of VRE infection rears its ugly head, anyway. : [

Unfortunately... I was handed a "Back to Lab" slip for Asepsis III... So I had to be re-evaluated on wet-to-dry wound packing, and unfortunately I failed it. So tomorrow I have to come in on my ONLY DAY OFF for a HALF AN HOUR. My entire day, wasted. Not cool at all.

Another upside, however, is the fact that I did so well on my Developmental Psych class that I can skip the final. Our teacher is dropping our lowest grade, so I can walk away from that class with a solid B+. Which I'm perfectly cool with, yo.

Weekend's going to suck, however. Since my Friday is all but gone, Saturday I have a lengthy job interview and a family function... It only gives me Sunday to get my shit together for my last Clinical day on Monday. And then I still have to worry about my Nursing final on Wednesday at 6-8 PM.

Our class is at 10 AM. What the fuck? Yet another way to totally waste my Wednesday night when I could be doing something so much more useful like watching Ghost Hunters or messing around on my new favorite game. : P

All bitching aside, I found a fun online RPG-ish game called Yugioh Online. I downloaded it a few days ago and have already created two of my four characters... so if any of you play it, if you ever see some brunette named "Sanyue" or a blonde named "Caitlynn", that's me.

On the downside, to get anywhere in that game you'd have to fork over real money to buy Duel Passes... which sucks, but hey, I enjoy wasting money on a children's card game.

Ok. So... I'm done now. I think I'll go play some more Online. :>}
